Current data on the evaluation of soft tissue within an Extraction Immediate implant placement and Temporisation protocol in the anterior sector.
Even though the prospect of an extraction, immediate implant and temporisation (EIIT) in the anterior sector is a challenge for practitioners when such a clinical situation arises, for the patient this technique entails a positive psychological impact since aesthetics and comfort are immediately obtained.
The patient, comforted by an improved smile and relationship with others, adheres easily to the treatment especially since the transitional stages require temporisation and validation periods, the duration of which is dictated by precise biological rules.
As part of his University Degree in Surgical and Prosthetic Implantology, the author of this paper re-examines this subject in the light of current literature.
After a reminder of the principles of the EIIT, he first addresses in detail the local elements involved in the management of such a project: the choice of implant, its positioning, the surgical technique, the hard and soft tissue grafts, and the immediate loading in the aesthetic zone through a provisional prosthesis.
The second part is dedicated to the aesthetic study. Using an analytical approach, he tackles soft tissue anatomy, in terms of quantity, location and relation in accordance with the quantity of white to give stable and satisfactory results.
Illustrated and with an extensive bibliography, this paper is a reference point in the EIIT field. We would like to thank its author for sharing it with the members of the “IFCIA Newsletter”.
