Complete restoration of dentogingival harmony is the primary objective of any restorative treatment, particularly when the dental root is to be extracted and replaced by an implant. The predictability and reliability of esthetic outcomes remains a challenge because of pronounced changes in the hard and soft tissues following a simple extraction (Atwood, 1963; Carlsson et al, 1966).
