« Le défi des greffes de sinus par voie latérale » 21 April 2016
The first issue of the 45th volume of the journal of odontostomatology (ROS - Volume 45 - No. 1 - February 2016) was dedicated to “Lateral sinus graft: challenges”.
It presents a new clinical classification using several parameters for the treatment of posterior maxilla edentulism. The following are considered:
- The height of the sinus floor crestal bone,
- The width of the sinus floor crestal bone,
- The horizontal offset of mandibular base, lateral offset
- The prosthetic space available, vertical offset of mandibular base
- The laugh line
- The occlusion relationships...
The different parameters grouped in 6 classes are presented with clinical situations. The surgical and prosthetic phases are amply illustrated with photographs and radiographs. Following a detailed analysis, the treatments range from a simple change of the type of implant, of its position axis, to the skeletal reconstruction using a lateral window sinus graft or even onlay surgeries.
This journal, coordinated by the Doctor ANTOUN, implantologist surgeon with the members of the IFCIA “Training Institute for Advanced Implant Surgery” Study Group as writers, can be used as a guide and support for professionals to successfully carry out treatments of the posterior maxilla edentulism.
